The outside is worked by hand in rows of raised, overlapping marks, which give it the texture of woven rope or basketwork. The inside is smooth and glossy. The rim is softly squared, so from above the bowl reads as a rounded square rather than a circle. The base is stamped "Made in Italy".

It can be used for fruit on a kitchen bench or dining table, or as a catch-all on a console. It also stands on its own as a sculptural piece on a shelf.

Origin: Italy
Sourced in: Veneto
Era: c.1970s
Materials: Glazed ceramic
Dimensions: 27cm in length, 13cm in width at the widest point
Attribution: Unattributed; stamped "Made in Italy"
Condition: Good vintage condition, with no chips or cracks visible.
