A single-hook wall-mounted coat stand in bamboo and rattan, Italy, c.1960s. Double and triple hook designs were standard production; single-hook stands were made in far smaller numbers, which gives this modest object a scarcity out of proportion to its size. The compact format suits the spots larger racks won't fit — behind a door, beside a mirror, in a powder room.
