A striking ceramic plate from 1950s Italy in the expressive style of the Florentine master Marcello Fantoni, probably originating from Florence or San Marino. The hand-applied glazes vary subtly in tone and depth across the surface, and the brushwork carries the immediacy of the artist's hand over a warm terracotta body. Sourced in Tuscany.
