Augustimåne — August Moon — a handwoven rölakan flatweave tapestry designed by Ingegerd Silow and produced by Axeco Svenska AB, Sweden, 1970s.

Silow is one of the most significant names in twentieth century Swedish textile design. Born in Stockholm in 1916, she trained at the Konstfack College of Art and Design before completing studies at Copenhagen's Kunsthandtweerksskolen, going on to form an enduring partnership with Axeco Svenska AB — the firm responsible for producing this piece — whose tapestry lines brought her distinctive geometric vocabulary into homes and galleries across Scandinavia and beyond. Her work was exhibited at the National Museum in Stockholm and at Liljevalchs Konsthall.

At 55 x 85cm it is a generous wall piece.

Retains its original Axeco Svenska AB label.
