Everything I do starts from the same belief: you already know what you want. You mightn't have the words for it yet, or the plan, or the confidence to trust it — but the taste is yours, and it's usually further along than you think. My job isn't to hand you my style. It's to help you find the room that's already half-formed in your head, and get there in a sensible order — without gutting the place or starting again.

Most of it happens remotely, wherever you are — I work with people across the UK, Australia and the US. You bring the room and the feeling you're after; I bring the eye, the plan and the pieces, and you make it real in your own time. You stay in control of the doing — I just make sure you're doing the right things, in the right order.

I believe a house should be imperfect, and that you should respect the history of the building — more on that in my approach.

It's all interior design consultation, in the end — my eye on your room, and a plan you carry out yourself, wherever you are. There are three, depending on how much you'd like off your plate — and two things you can add to any of them.

Three consultations

Steer — A$200. One room, one call, my eye on it before you spend a thing. Send me a few photos and the measurements, and we'll talk through the layout, the light, and what I'd actually do first. It's where most people start, and often all you need — and whatever you spend comes off a design package if you carry on. Steer

Direction — from A$900. A proper concept and a to-scale furniture plan for the room — the palette, the key pieces, the layout that actually works. You'll know precisely what you're working towards and what to look for; the sourcing and buying from there is entirely up to you. Remote Design

Scheme — from A$1,750. Everything in Direction, plus a complete design scheme and a shopping list built around your budget, item by item — some from my own collection, some I can find for you, some you'll track down yourself. You'll know exactly what to buy, where from and roughly what it should cost, and you bring it to life at your own pace. Remote Design

Direction and Scheme are priced per room, and a larger or multi-use space may be a little more — I'll always tell you before we start. If you're in Melbourne, any of this can happen in person — a day in the room, working it out together, rather than over a call. Just ask.

Two things you can add

Find. The part I love most, and the one thing nobody else can really offer: hunting down a particular piece for you on my trips through Italy — a specific lamp, a mirror, a pair of chairs, the piece of glass you can't stop thinking about. Add it to any consultation, or come to me just for this. Find

Restore. I'd almost always rather bring a good piece back than replace it. Restoration and reupholstery of things you already own — or things I find for you — by a small circle of makers I trust. Add it to any consultation, or send me a single piece to look at. Restore
