A pair of "Selene" stacking chairs designed by Vico Magistretti and manufactured by Artemide. Designed in 1966 and launched by Artemide in 1969, the Selene is one of the defining objects of Italian Space Age design, moulded from a single piece of plastic with Magistretti's patented S-shaped legs giving rigidity with minimal material; examples are held in the permanent collections of MoMA in New York and the Vitra Design Museum. Clean-lined, enveloping and stackable.
Measures 47 cm wide, 50 cm deep, 75 cm high, with a 45 cm seat height.
Condition: Good vintage condition. Light wear consistent with age. Artemide maker's mark stamped under the seat.
