I'd almost always rather bring a good piece back than replace it. The chair with lovely bones and tired upholstery; the table that's sound but looking its age; the thing you can't quite part with but can't quite use either. Most of them have another life in them — and it's usually a better piece at the end than anything new you'd buy to stand in its place.
I work with a small circle of people I trust and I'll take a piece in hand: we talk through what it wants, what it will cost, and what it'll look like when it's done. On its own, or as part of a room we're doing together, where bringing your own pieces back into use is often the loveliest part of the whole scheme.
Because it depends entirely on the piece, restoration is quoted one by one. Send me a photo and tell me about it, and I'll tell you honestly whether it's worth doing — sometimes it isn't, and I'll say so.
Restore works on its own, or as an add-on to any consultation — add it to Steer, Direction or Scheme.
