A Signature Worth Examining

A framed painting of an Italian street scene rendered in a cubist style, bearing the signature Camilo Mori. Camilo Mori (1896–1973) was one of Chile's most significant modernist painters — born to Italian immigrant parents, trained in Paris amid the mature phase of cubism, and a founder of the Grupo Montparnasse that brought European modernism to Latin America. We have not had the attribution authenticated, and the painting is priced accordingly as a decorative work; a buyer who establishes the attribution would hold something of considerably greater value. A confident, strongly composed picture in its own right, at a scale that carries a wall.
