Deco in Thick Glass

A small Art Deco table lamp in thick clear Murano glass, the body shaped as a stylised acanthus leaf and lit from behind, so the form reads as a sculptural object whether switched on or off. Attributed to Ercole Barovier, one of Murano's foremost glassmakers; the piece carries no maker's mark. Rewired and in working order, with a fabric-covered cable and inline switch. Sourced in Piedmont; suits a mantel, shelf or desk as much as a bedside.
