The Standing Basket
A lidded basket in bamboo and rattan, raised on three splayed legs. The cylindrical body is worked in a looped openwork pattern between bentwood hoops, with a concentric coiled base and a domed, coiled lid finished with a ring handle. Small ring pulls sit to either side of the rim. A characterful piece in the Italian rattan tradition of Franco Albini and attributed to Bonacina, useful for storage beside a chair or bed, or as a standing form in its own right.
