The Mezzaluna

A demilune wall light in Murano glass, made in Italy in the 1970s. A curved diffuser of white opaline glass is framed by a heavy arc of black cased glass — a two-tone treatment characteristic of Italian workshop lighting of the period. The opaline diffuses the light softly and evenly, while the black rim reads as a clean graphic line when the fitting is unlit.

The half-moon form and strong black-and-white palette place it firmly in the 1970s Italian modernist idiom.
