The Blue Square

A square ceramic dish hand-painted in Ravello on the Amalfi Coast, stamped S. Falcone on the base. The top has a cobalt spiral at its centre and a scalloped blue border. Underneath, the rim is painted with coral petals outlined in blue, which is a nice surprise for whoever turns it over.

For a salad, a tart or a platter of tomatoes.
