The Macchie Technique

A hand-blown Murano glass globe pendant in opaline white with a mottled, cloud-like surface, produced by the traditional macchie (spot) technique in which molten white glass is worked into the body of the globe — a pattern unique to each piece. Pieces of this type are widely attributed to Venetian makers of the era, including Mazzega and Vistosi, who produced globe pendants of this style for the European and export markets. Chrome and brushed nickel cap, collar and canopy, with an adjustable 60cm drop. Suits an entrance, bedroom or above a kitchen bench.
