Eisenkeil's Technique

A 1960s Italian cocoon pendant in the round form, made by the spray-resin technique developed by Arturo Eisenkeil in Merano — the process that turned an industrial material into one of the icons of mid-century Italian lighting, most famously in Castiglioni's designs for Flos. The resin has developed the honey-beige patina of six decades' exposure to light and air, and the original fitting remains intact. Hangs well at 60–80cm above a dining table, or 200cm-plus from the floor in open space. In the style of Castiglioni.
