The Mushroom Form

A 1970s Italian table lamp in the classic mushroom form, hand-blown in cream Murano glass with the spiralling rigadin swirl running through both the domed shade and the rounded base — a single sculptural gesture in glass. Lit, it glows to a soft, even warmth; the swirl gives the surface movement even switched off. Being mouth-blown, slight variations in the swirl and the odd internal bubble are part of the making, not flaws. Sourced in Milan; suits a bedside, console or shelf.
