A pair of pewter wall sconces with mirrored backs, made in the late 1920s during the Swedish Grace movement — the refined classicism of interwar Stockholm. The mirrored backs double the candlelight and give the pewter a soft lustre even unlit, and the pair format makes them ready for a mantel wall, hallway or either side of a mirror. An uncommon find in Australia and a good example of early 20th-century Scandinavian decorative arts. Sold as a pair.
