The Dal Vera Manner
A rectangular wall mirror with a broad woven-cane frame, bordered inside and out with split bamboo and bound at the corners in wrapped rattan. Made in Italy in the 1970s, in the manner of Dal Vera — the Veneto maker known for exactly this bamboo, rattan and woven-wicker construction. The warm, textural frame is characteristic of the company's better mirrors. Unless labelled, sold as in the style of rather than firmly attributed.
Hangs well above a dressing table or console, in an entrance, or in a bathroom. Portrait or landscape.
