Black Lacquer

An Italian bamboo coat rack from the 1970s in its original black lacquer, attributed to Roberti Rattan. Most examples of this type survive in natural cane, which makes the black finish uncommon — it reads as more graphic and contemporary on the wall than its age suggests. Equally suited to coats in a hallway or towels in a bathroom.
