The Bassano Tazza

A footed comport (tazza) in white-glazed ceramic, made in Bassano del Grappa. The dish is moulded with a woven basketweave centre and edged with a pierced, hand-worked twisted-rope rim; it stands on a turned pedestal foot with a moulded, scalloped base. The all-white glaze keeps the focus on the interplay of woven and openwork texture. Marked Bassano to the underside.

A versatile serving and display piece — for fruit, bread or cake at the table, or standing empty as a decorative form on a sideboard.
