Resin and Light

A 1960s Italian cocoon table lamp with a cream base, the shade formed by the spray-resin technique developed by Arturo Eisenkeil in Merano and made famous by Achille Castiglioni's cocoon designs for Flos. The resin coating over a metal frame diffuses light to a soft, even warmth, and has developed the honey-toned patina collectors look for. In the style of Castiglioni; the shade is intact and the base structurally sound. Suits a bedside, console or desk.
