A 1970s Italian cabinet, the bamboo frame clad in split bamboo laid as herringbone parquetry and finished with brass knobs. The parquetry gives the piece an unusually rich, textured surface that reads almost like marquetry at a distance, in a warm honeyed tone. Attributed to Vivai del Sud, the Roman studio whose bamboo furnished the most glamorous Italian interiors of the decade. Genuinely useful storage — a top drawer, an open display niche and a two-door cupboard — on working castors, so it serves equally as a bedside cabinet, bar cabinet or occasional storage piece. Sourced in Lombardy.
