A mid-century Italian armchair in bamboo, curved rattan and hand-woven wicker, the rounded backrest formed of thin curved canes in a fan arrangement over shaped bamboo armrests and wicker-bound joints. The open weave keeps the chair visually light while the bamboo frame gives it genuine strength, and the cane has aged to a warm, even honey patina. Made in the Italian Riviera manner associated with Franco Albini, whose cane work defined the genre. A sculptural occasional chair for a living room, bedroom or sunroom — comfortable alone, better still in a reading corner with a side table.
