The Red Parchment

A 1950s Italian pendant in bamboo and rattan with a rare red parchment inner diffuser, suspended from a rattan chain — early post-war work from the period when lighting was still made piece by piece rather than in production runs. Lit, the parchment warms the light to a distinct red-amber cast that the natural cane frame filters and softens; the diffuser colour is seldom found. The shade measures approximately 35cm across. Suits a dining corner, hallway or bedroom.
