Murano Blue Art Glass Vase with Optic Pattern and Ruffled Rim, 1970s
Cobalt, Honeycombed
A Murano vase in vivid cobalt blue, blown into a mould to produce the deep, regular diamond pattern known as optic (or honeycomb) work, the slender amphora body rising to a flared neck with a wavy, ruffled rim — a finishing flourish that demonstrates the glassmaker's control. The interior is cased in a milky opaline that plays against the saturated exterior and deepens the pattern. Strong colour, serious technique, and an easy piece to place.
