The Silver Bow

A small hand-blown Murano vase in clear glass, baluster form with a flared rim, mounted with an applied sterling silver bow to the front, hallmarked 925. Made in Italy and retaining its original Murano foil label. The silver bow is the point of interest — a decorative detail typical of Italian glass of the period, when clear blown forms were dressed with precious-metal appliqué for the gift market. The 925 mark confirms solid silver rather than plate, which is the better version of this style.

A useful small vase for a single stem or a short posy, or simply as an object on a shelf or bedside.
