Richard Ginori, Hand-Painted

A hand-decorated oval platter by Richard-Ginori, made at the firm's historic Mondovì factory in Piedmont. A bold stylised flower sits at the centre in two tones of rose around a black-and-white target, ringed by a loose red band and framed by a border of black-outlined ovals and red dashes. The brushwork is confident and free, the graphic, slightly Pop sensibility unmistakably of its period.

The underside carries the impressed Richard-Ginori Mondovì mark with decoro a mano (hand-decorated) and inalterabile. A piece with presence — as good propped on a shelf or hung on a wall as it is in use.
