Milanese Polka Dots

A large spherical table lamp by Studio PAF Milano, 1970s, the glazed ceramic base worked in a textured polka-dot relief in pastel pink and white, finished with brass. PAF was one of the smaller Milanese lighting studios whose playful, high-quality output is now firmly collected, and the polka-dot relief gives this example a texture that photographs cannot quite do justice to. At 20cm across the base it has genuine presence on a console, sideboard or generous bedside.
